Actor Adarsh Gourav, who recently appeared in Superboys of Malegaon, is poised to make his debut in the South Indian film industry with an upcoming Telugu project. This film, which is being described as a psychological thriller, remains untitled at this time and will be produced by Jahnavi Kapoor, the daughter of DVV Danayya, known for his work on RRR.

As per a press release issued on Tuesday, the film will be directed by Baba Shashank and is expected to be released in 2025. Adarsh expressed his enthusiasm, stating that it is a significant thrill for him to explore diverse narratives across different film industries.

“The South film industry has consistently produced some of the most engaging and innovative cinema, and I am thrilled to finally join this vibrant community. This particular project is distinct from anything I have previously undertaken. It falls within the psychological horror genre and features a captivating storyline that instantly captivated me,” Adarsh remarked.

“Working alongside a visionary team and making my Telugu debut under Jahnavi's production banner is incredibly special. I eagerly anticipate the audience's reaction to what we are creating,” the actor stated.

Recent work

Gourav is recognized for his roles in films such as The White Tiger, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and the web series Guns & Gulaabs. His performance in The White Tiger garnered him a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He was last seen in the film Superboys of Malegaon and the web series Alien: Earth, both of which were released this year.

Interestingly, Adarsh hails from a Telugu-speaking family; his father, Satishnarayana Bhagavatula, is from Srikakulam, while his mother, Padmavati, is from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh. However, he was raised in Jamshedpur and Mumbai. Further information regarding the cast and crew of his debut film is anticipated.
