The discussion surrounding nepotism in Bollywood is intensifying, as numerous children of established actors face criticism for obtaining prominent roles based on their family names, while those from outside the industry frequently find themselves assigned to minor parts. In a recent dialogue with Cyrus Broacha, actress Adah Sharma shared an anecdote about her attempt to gain recognition as a star kid by falsely claiming to be the daughter of Anu Malik after Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not recognize her.

Adah shared a comical experience involving Sanjay, stating, “I must share a humorous incident. I needed to introduce myself at the Heeramandi premiere, where Sanjay Leela Bhansali was present. My passion for dancing in films was the sole reason I pursued acting. A friend encouraged me to approach the filmmaker, so I introduced myself by saying, ‘Hello, I’m Adah.’ He then looked at me and remarked, ‘Adah? Anu Malik’s daughter, Adah?’”

She elaborated, “In that brief moment, I contemplated whether I should decline, mentioning my roles in The Kerala Story and Sunflower, along with my ability to dance and perform 100 chakras. Should I express all of that, or simply acquiesce? In interviews, everyone inquires about nepotism. I realized this was an opportunity, so I decided to agree. Thus, I responded, ‘Yes.’ He then inquired, ‘How’s Dad?’ to which I merely nodded and replied, ‘Yeah.’ He responded with, ‘Okay.’” Adah humorously remarked on the video, “A tip on how not to get cast in a film.”

Her narrative amused her fans. One comment stated, “I believe she is entirely capable of this (laughing emoji).” Another user remarked, “Adah, you possess an incredible sense of humour.” A third comment noted, “Cyrus and Adah are a hilarious duo.”

Adah Sharma was most recently featured in the psychological thriller C.D (Criminal or Devil), directed by Krishna Annam and produced by Giridhar. She has also garnered acclaim for her roles in web series such as Sunflower and Reeta Sanyal. The actress has yet to disclose her forthcoming projects.
