11 days ago | 5 Views
In February, after Congress Kerala asserted that Preity Zinta had handed her social media account to a political party to have her ₹18 crore loan “written off,” Preity clarified that the loan had been settled over ten years ago. Now, during an AMA session on X, the actress responded to an X user questioning why she doesn’t feel remorse for utilizing public funds.
Preity Zinta responds to troll
An X user queried Preity during the AMA session, “Hey! How many loans have been forgiven for you so far? Why don’t you have any morals about using your influence to take public money? ” In response, the actress stated, “You sound like all those individuals out there that consume fake news and accept it as truth. For the last time, any and every news article that you have encountered regarding me and any bank loan — ₹18 crore, ₹1. 5 crore or any other crore — is all FAKE NEWS. Hope that removes any uncertainty in your mind. How the media got it wrong, I cannot say, but I’m certain there’s more to it than just misreporting. ”
In February, while sharing a report that also included Preity's picture, Congress Kerala tweeted, "She handed her social media accounts to BJP and had ₹18 crore waived off, and the bank went under last week. Depositors are out on the streets seeking their money. " In reply, Preity labeled it "nasty gossip" and posted on X, "No, I manage my social media accounts on my own, and shame on you for spreading FAKE NEWS! No one waived off anything or any loan for me. "
She continued, "I’m appalled that a political party or their representative is spreading false information and engaging in nasty gossip and clickbait by using my name and images. For clarification, a loan was taken and FULLY REPAID — over a decade ago. I hope this clarifies and aids in preventing any misunderstandings in the future (folded hands emoji). "
