Punjab erupted with pride and emotion as its cherished son, Sonu Sood, made his return to his homeland to promote his forthcoming cybercrime-themed action film, Fateh. At dawn, Sonu commenced his journey at the renowned Golden Temple in Amritsar, seeking blessings for his directorial debut. Understanding that a visit to Punjab would be incomplete without savouring its culinary offerings, he enjoyed an authentic Punjabi meal at a local dhaba, a tribute to his heritage. The day took on a patriotic essence as he arrived at the Wagah Border to honour the bravery of India’s soldiers. While at Wagah, Sonu also visited Check Post 102, the historic boundary that delineates India and Pakistan. The audience present during the ceremony erupted in cheers, delighted to see their local star in such a significant context.

As he observed the vibrant parade alongside the soldiers, Sonu provided them with a preview of Fateh. The trailer features him as an ex-special ops officer equipped with formidable skills, on a mission to dismantle a cybercrime syndicate that endangers innocent lives. With co-stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz, the film is set to deliver an exhilarating experience.

Sonu Sood remarked, “Punjab is my homeland, and as I embark on my journey as a director, I knew it had to commence at the Golden Temple, where my film begins. Growing up here has profoundly influenced my identity, and each return fills me with gratitude and pride. As we prepare to unveil our film to the audience, seeking blessings at the Golden Temple and witnessing the parade at Wagah Border have been both soothing and inspiring. The patriotism that this land instils is a treasure I carry with me at every step.”

The sacred city of Amritsar welcomed Sonu with warmth and affection. Wherever he went, he was greeted with cheers and smiles, whether engaging with local chefs at bustling dhabas, enjoying freshly made kulchas, or conversing with a local tailor. The day was a heartfelt homage to Sonu’s roots, rich in both nostalgia and appreciation.

Created by Umesh KR Bansal from Zee Studios and Sonali Sood of Shakti Sagar Productions, with co-production by Ajay Dhama, Fateh is an engaging narrative that explores themes of bravery, perseverance, and the battle against cybercrime. The film is scheduled for release on January 10, 2025.
