Actor Manoj Bharathiraja, known for his recent role in the 2024 Tamil web series Snakes and Ladders, passed away on Tuesday evening due to a cardiac arrest. He was 48 years old and is survived by his wife and two daughters. The actor's final rites were conducted at his home in Chennai, where numerous members of the film industry came to express their condolences.

Music composer Ilaiyaraaja was among the first to extend his sympathies. Having collaborated closely with Bharathiraja, Ilaiyaraaja expressed his shock and sorrow over the loss, praying for Manoj's soul to find peace and wishing strength for the grieving family during this challenging time.

“I am deeply shocked to learn that Manoj is no longer with us. His premature passing is truly heartbreaking. At just 48 years old, this loss is profound. I pray that his father, Thiru #Bharathiraaja, and his family find the strength to endure this immense sorrow. You will be greatly missed, Manoj. Rest in peace,” stated actor Khushbu.

Others from both the film and political communities also took to social media to pay their respects to Manoj.
