'Shashtipoorthi' is a poignant family drama featuring Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad in a deeply emotional role. The film, which intertwines themes of love, tradition, and familial bonds, is produced by Maa Aaie Productions and stars Rupeysh in the lead. Notably, it marks the first collaboration in 38 years between Nata Kireeti and National Award winner Archana, alongside Akanksha Singh. Directed by Pavan Prabha and produced by Hero Rupeysh Choudhary, the film's glimpse was released today.
During the event, actor Dr Rajendra Prasad expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to portray significant roles throughout his career. He referred to the media community as his siblings and credited the affection they showed him to the blessings of the Almighty. "Shashtipoorthi transcends mere cinema; it embodies life itself. I have become a part of your family. PV Narasimha Rao, who served as Prime Minister, often remarked, 'There will be a lamp in the house, a cot to sleep, and Prasad.' Indeed, the films I have created since 'Aa Naluguru' are a testament to God's grace. Each of us involved in Shashtipoorthi during the era of OTT platforms takes pride in our work. In the past, films like Mr Pellam attracted families to theatres, often leaving no parking available. Shashtipoorthi is a film that caters to family audiences. The ceremonies associated with Shashtipoorthi hold significant importance in our culture. Rupeysh has excelled in both acting and producing, demonstrating his dedication to the craft. He actively seeks my input on his performances during filming. Padma Shri Thota Tharani has contributed as the Art Director for our project. Lyricist Chaitanya Prasad's song from 'Aa Naluguru' has been played during memorials for dignitaries, showcasing his talent, which is also evident in his work for Shashtipoorthi. Archana was an exceptionally skilled performer when we collaborated on Ladies Tailor. The characters we portray in Shashtipoorthi are robust and well-developed. I have always approached my role as a responsible actor since my days at the training institute. Chiranjeevi Garu once remarked that it would be surprising if I did not deliver my best performance. The film Shashtipoorthi has been brought to life by remarkable technicians. Those who cherish Telugu culture will undoubtedly appreciate our film. I feel immensely fortunate to have participated in this project. I encourage you to watch it with your parents, grandparents, and children. The film aims to represent our culture and traditions. Please ensure you view it exclusively in theatres," Rajendra Prasad stated.
Actress Archana expressed her excitement, stating, "After a significant hiatus, I am returning to the Telugu audience. When producer Rupeysh and director Pavan Prabha approached me regarding this film, my initial inquiries were about the title and my co-stars. They informed me that I would be working alongside one of the most esteemed actors in Indian cinema, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. While you may not be familiar with the Tamil films where he has played the lead, I have consistently followed his work. He is the actor that everyone aspires to collaborate with, and such acknowledgement is crucial for an actor's career. His enduring legacy is a testament to his talent. Additionally, Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is involved in this project, and it is an honour to have an artist of his calibre on board. It is difficult to decline an opportunity like this. I am also collaborating with the renowned art director Thota Tharani for the first time, and I hold him in high regard. This film boasts an exceptional team, with remarkable individuals coming together to create something special. Producer and lead actor Rupeysh has dedicated immense effort to this project, and their passion for cinema is palpable. It is our responsibility to impart such admirable values, which we have endeavoured to do in this film. Regarding Akanksha, she reminds me of the legendary filmmaker Bapu Garu, as she resembles a Bapu Bomma. I view these individuals as my children and extend my heartfelt blessings to them. I am grateful to everyone for the warm welcome I have received."
Actor-producer Rupeysh expressed, "Shashtipoorthi marks my debut film. I sincerely hope that it receives widespread appreciation, and I seek the blessings of all."
Lyricist Chaitanya Prasad remarked, "Certain films hold a special significance in the lives of individuals. For me, Aa Naluguru was one such film, and now Shashtipoorthi has taken that place. I have penned the title song for this project. The hero, director, and producer are all newcomers in the industry, and they discussed the possibility of collaborating with Ilaiyaraaja sir. Initially, I was uncertain about the feasibility of this. However, as they shared more information regarding the song, I chose to remain patient. Eventually, I was invited to Chennai to meet Ilaiyaraaja sir, which solidified my belief that this collaboration was indeed happening. It has always been my aspiration to write even a single song for Ilaiyaraaja sir, and this team has made that aspiration a reality. While I have composed songs for numerous films, the song I wrote for Rajendra Prasad Garu in Aa Naluguru will forever hold a special place in my heart. I have also contributed another song for him in this film. Additionally, Archana Ma'am and other esteemed artists joined the project. These legends did not merely participate in the film; they developed a genuine affection for it. My experience with Aa Naluguru was not just about writing songs; it was a journey, and the same applies to Shashtipoorthi. Although my contributions have concluded, my connection to this film remains strong. I must extend my gratitude to Keeravani sir, who has composed one of the songs. In Shashtipoorthi, Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh form one pair, while the elder brothers Rajendra Prasad and Archana Ma'am constitute another. Both pairs have excelled in their performances."
Director Pavan Prabha expressed his gratitude to the core team, highlighting the exceptional performances of Rupeysh, Rajendra Prasad, and Archana, which elevated the film significantly. He remarked, "When you see them on screen, you will find it hard to blink. I assure you of this. Condensing a two-and-a-half-hour film into just one minute is quite a challenge, but I trust you appreciated the preview. Rupeysh sir has always emphasized that any film we create should embody strong values, morals, and ethics. A film that meets these standards will endure over time. I held Ilaiyaraaja sir in high regard and felt nervous while presenting my ideas to him. He has an incredible ability to compose melodies on the spot, grasping my intentions effortlessly. The lyrics by Chaitanya Prasad are truly a blessing, and Rehman has contributed two songs. The technical team has performed admirably. When I conceptualized the female lead, I named her Janaki, which is also how I have saved her contact in my phone," the director stated.
Actress Akanksha Singh shared her enthusiasm, saying, "I am thrilled to have participated in this film. It brings me immense joy to be involved in a project with such a compelling narrative. I extend my gratitude to Pavan sir and Rupeysh sir for allowing me to portray the character of Janaki. I hope families will come together to watch this film in theatres. Ilaiyaraaja sir, Thota Tarani sir, and Chaitanya Prasad sir dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to this project. This film would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of Rajendra Prasad sir and Archana Ma'am. I sincerely hope that everyone enjoys this film with their loved ones."
Jabardasth Ram expressed his pride in being part of the movie, stating, "It fills me with great joy. Director Pavan Prabha entrusted me with a significant role. Shashtipoorthi is a pivotal ceremony, marking a time when children have matured, and I believe that the values of parental guidance begin to take shape then. This film highlights what we may overlook in our daily lives. I am grateful for the chance to work alongside such talented actors. I hope that more films like this, which promote societal values, continue to be produced."
Actor Anil expressed his gratitude, stating, "I extend my heartfelt thanks to the director for granting me the opportunity to be part of this film. Our family holds a profound respect for Rajendra Prasad sir, and it is a privilege to share the screen with him. We had a wonderful experience working on this project, and I sincerely hope that the audience enjoys watching it as much as we enjoyed creating it."
Comedian Chalaki Chanti remarked, "There are some remarkable scenes featuring Jabardasth Ram and myself. I prefer not to disclose my character at this moment. I would like to express my deep appreciation to producer-hero Rupeysh. Rajendra Prasad sir is our mentor, and his presence on set created a unique atmosphere. I felt a sense of nervousness in his company. This film truly embodies the spirit of a festival, uniting everyone."
