A dimly lit alley is brightened up by a one-of-a-kind lamp shop that never closes. The place attracts enigmatic visitors, each with their own secrets and motives. Packed with excitement and eerie vibes, the supernatural K-drama Light Shop is a fantastic adaptation of the webtoon by Kang Full, who created the original comic.

Light Shop builds on the incredible success of Kang’s earlier project, Moving, which turned out to be the biggest foreign show on Disney+ in 2023, and it's gearing up for a Season 2.

Ju Ji Hoon from Kingdom takes on the role of Jung Won Young, the shop owner who keeps his emotions in check and never removes his sunglasses. He shares that he’s a big fan of Kang’s work, which was a major reason for joining the show.

“I’ve admired Kang Full’s work since my school days. I loved Moving and had the chance to work with director Kim Hiewon when he was still acting. That experience made me appreciate his artistic depth, so when he reached out with a script, I was all in. I’ve always had faith in Kang Full, and even though it was Kim Hiewon’s directorial debut, I knew he’d nail it,” he explained.

His character, Won Young, serves as the observer, offering viewers a glimpse into the lives of various guests, some of whom are alive, some dead, and others caught in between. “The story is packed with suspense and tension, and the characters are super engaging. I found myself totally absorbed and eager to dive into the next episode’s script,” he added.

Kang’s unique way of linking his characters’ lives with intense violence and supernatural happenings is hard to miss. “The individual stories weave together, creating a deep human drama,” Ju Ji Hoon noted.
