Although Stree 2 is running successfully at the Box Office currently, the movie faced a major controversy when its poster was released. There were numerous comparisons with the poster being similar to the supernatural show, Stranger Things. Of course, Stree 2 also belongs to the genre, but the striking similarities were noticed almost instantly. Abhishek Banerjee, who is a part of Stree 2, spoke on the same at a recent interview.

Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the role of Jana aka Janardhan in Stree 2, was asked about the comparisons between Stree 2 poster and Stranger Things 2 poster. The actor gave a witty reply to Bollywood Hungama as he said it is not an actor's job to create a poster but to be on it. While stating that it is the marketing team and the designers who take a call on the poster, the actor added, "Hum toh actor hain. Hamara toh kaam hai poster pe aana, banana thodi hai." It is to be noted that none of the other cast members or the makers have responded to the allegations which came from the netizens after noticing the poster.

Jana plays an important role in Stree 2, again

Jana has been a link between all of Maddock Supernatural Universe films. He was the one to be kidnapped and stripped in Stree, and took the universe forward through Bhediya and Munjya. In case you were wondering, yes, he plays an important role in Amar Kaushik's Stree 2 as well.

In the movie, Jana is linked to Akshay Kumar's cameo appearance. Akshay's character, believed to be the lead Sarkata, feels an instant attraction with Jana. He believes that Jana is his lover from the past life, and thus, they end up romancing.

Stree 2, out in theatres on Independence Day i.e. on August 15, is well on its way to mint Rs. 500 crores at the Box Office. The film is inching closer to Rs. 450 crores already, and is most likely to earn Rs. 500 crores by the end of this week. The movie stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, with Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek in pivotal roles. The movie is the second highest grossing film of 2024 worldwide, after Kalki 2898 AD. In the Indian markets, it has set a benchmark and movies like Akshay's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, which released alongside Stree 2, earned only over Rs. 20 crores so far.
