The renowned singer Udit Narayan has recently found himself embroiled in a significant controversy. The veteran performer has faced intense criticism for kissing his female fans during a concert. A video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to a significant backlash against the singer. Despite the public outcry, Narayan has defended his actions, claiming that his behaviour was 'decent'. Furthermore, his fellow singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has come to his defence, stating that Narayan did not forcibly pull anyone close to him.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya defends Udit Narayan

In a recent interview with News18, Abhijeet Bhattacharya expressed his solidarity with Udit Narayan in light of the viral kissing controversy. The seasoned artist remarked that such incidents frequently occur within the music industry. "Udit is an iconic singer. Incidents like this are a common occurrence for us, the singers. If we are not adequately protected or accompanied by security personnel, individuals may even damage our attire," he stated.

The esteemed musician continued to support Udit by stating, "Women were pursuing him. He never drew anyone close to him. I am confident that Udit's wife will join him as a co-singer during every performance. Allow him to relish his achievements! He is a romantic vocalist. He is also quite the player, while I consider myself inexperienced. Do not attempt to engage with him."

For those unfamiliar, Abhijeet also posted a video featuring Udit on his Instagram account. In the caption, the singer referred to Narayan as 'Khiladi' and himself as 'anari.'

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Udit Narayan expressed that he feels no shame or embarrassment regarding his actions. He stated, "This is not a sleazy or hidden matter. It exists in the public domain. My intentions are sincere. If certain individuals choose to interpret my genuine affection as something inappropriate, I pity them. I also wish to extend my gratitude to them."
