At the trailer launch for Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 on Wednesday, Bobby Deol expressed profound reflections on his journey in embodying Baba, the pivotal character of the series. In his remarks about collaborating with director Prakash Jha, Bobby conveyed that the chance to work with him felt like a realization of a long-held aspiration.

He stated, "Upon hearing Prakash Ji’s name, I immediately thought, 'This opportunity has finally arrived.' I had desired to work with him for many years. I recall a conversation we had many years ago during the dubbing of Gupt at BR Studios, but circumstances did not align at that time. After all those years, entering his office made me anxious. As an actor, there is always a lingering fear of rejection."

Bobby further elaborated on how, despite his initial uncertainties, Prakash Jha motivated him to embrace the role of Baba. “When Prakash Ji asked me to portray Baba, I questioned my ability to succeed in such a role, as I had never undertaken anything similar before. However, he advised me, 'Believe that you are Baba. Do not watch any videos. When you are in front of the camera, simply trust in yourself.'”

For Bobby, Aashram has evolved into something far more significant than just a character; it has become profoundly personal. He remarked, "Aashram holds a special place in my heart. The affection and recognition I have received from audiences due to this show surpass what I ever envisioned. Witnessing the joy on people's faces and hearing from my family—such as my parents and brother—about their admiration for my performance has been the most fulfilling aspect of this journey. That is how deeply Aashram resonates with me."

Bobby articulated that the absence of challenges would have diminished the excitement of the experience. He stated, "Without challenges, the thrill is lost. Each day on set presented new opportunities. Prakash Ji crafted the character in such a manner that every day felt invigorating. He incorporated numerous dimensions into Baba’s role, making it enjoyable to portray them. The narrative was so compelling that the character seemed authentic. Initially, I attended diction classes, and over time, I became more at ease with the role. The entire team was exceptional, and I never encountered a moment where I felt hindered or faced challenges in a negative sense."
