Aashish shared a video featuring podcaster Vinamre Kasanaa on his Instagram stories, describing it as ‘insightful’. He subsequently expressed his perspective on the matter, stating, “While one may find the crude or awkward humor and the offensive remarks made during the show objectionable, leading to feelings of disgust and a decision to socially boycott or unsubscribe from such content, the actions taken by the state in this context are quite perplexing.”

While Ranveer has apologised for his comment and Samay has taken down all India’s Got Latent-related content from YouTube, the duo and other influencers have not just been called out by people but also had legal complaints against them.

What happened

India's Got Latent became the center of controversy following a guest appearance by podcaster Ranveer, known as Beerbiceps. During the show, he posed a provocative question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents... or join in once and stop it forever?” After the episode was released on YouTube, numerous complaints and FIRs were lodged against Ranveer, Samay, and other influencers featured in the episode, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani, in Maharashtra and Assam.

On February 20, the Maharashtra Cyber Department informed ANI that a second summons would be issued to Samay after he did not appear on February 18 to provide his statement. Samay requested permission to record his statement via videoconferencing, citing his presence in the United States and his inability to return to India before March 17 due to prior obligations. This request was denied.

In response to the backlash, following the removal of all India's Got Latent videos from his channel, Samay expressed on social media, “Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly.”

On February 18, the Supreme Court intervened, strongly denouncing Ranveer's comments. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh characterized the remarks as "dirty and perverted," emphasizing that such conduct must be categorically condemned.
