Aakhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, featuring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, is currently facing significant legal challenges. The film's producers are embroiled in a lawsuit initiated by the daughter of a former Chief Minister, who has accused them of defrauding her of Rs. 4 crore. The actress alleges that she was promised a role in return for her financial contribution, but claims that the producers failed to fulfil their agreement. Aarushu Nishank, the daughter of former Union Minister of Uttarakhand Ramesh Nishank and an actress herself, has lodged a complaint against the producers of Aakhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, alleging financial misconduct. She contends that the producer duo, Mansi and Varun Bagla, promised her a role in the film in exchange for a monetary arrangement. Despite her efforts to secure the majority of the agreed amount, she asserts that she did not receive any role in the production.

The initial agreement between Aarushi and the producers stipulated that she would invest Rs. 5 crore in the project in exchange for a role in the film and a 20 per cent share of the profits, estimated at around Rs. 15 crore. Additionally, the producers entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with her, which assured them that she would receive a full refund if she was dissatisfied with the role assigned to her. Consequently, she made an initial payment of Rs. 2 crore, followed by an additional Rs. 2 crore at a later date.

After contributing a total of Rs. 4 crore to the project, Aarushi awaited a response but received none. She alleges that the producers failed to provide the promised refund and instead cast another actress in her role.

Aarushi additionally asserts that the producers responded with death threats and cautioned her about potential legal repercussions should she continue to pursue the issue. This includes the possibility of a defamation lawsuit. The actress has accused the producers of engaging in caste-based discrimination and body-shaming. Aarushi has lodged a complaint under the Information Technology Act. The producer duo has not yet addressed her allegations.
