Actor Amir Khan has once again won hearts with his sweet gesture. The actor recently video called Vinesh Phogat after her return from the Paris 2024 Olympics. Vinesh made a historic win in the semifinals before her disqualification from the finals for being overweight in the women's wrestling 50 kg freestyle. The actor has now made a gesture to cheer the spirit of the wrestler. 

Aamir Khan video-calls Vinesh Phogat

Aamir Khan made a film on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his journey of training his daughters Geeta and Babita Phogat. Now, the actor offered his heartfelt congratulations on Vinesh Phogat's outstanding journey in the Olympics 2024. A picture from their video call is now doing rounds on the internet and fans are praising the actor for his sweet gesture. 

In the picture, we can see Aamir Khan on the screen while on the other end Vinesh, accompanied by Kripa Shankar happily speaking to the actor. Kripa also mentored the Dangal actors during the shoot. Vinesh can be seen happy and overwhelmed with this sweet thing that Aamir has done. Fans also took to the comment section and some even commented that 'Dangal 2 is on its way!'.

After her disqualification at the Olympics, Vinesh Phogat appealed against the IOC (International Olympics Committee) and UWW's (United World Wrestling) decision in the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport). However, it did not work in her favor and her plea was dismissed after a week-long hearing. The wrestler then announced her retirement in a heartfelt note on social media.

Aamir Khan starrer Dangal was released in 2016. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari is a biographical sports drama based on the life of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. Mahavir fought against societal stigmas and decided to fulfill his dreams of winning a gold medal in wrestling by training his daughters and making them the best wrestlers. The film features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh as Babita and Geeta Phogat.
