Just a few days after Aamir Khan introduced his girlfriend Gauri Spratt to the press, his sister, Nikhat Khan Hegde, shared the family's thoughts on Gauri. Aamir revealed last week that he and Gauri have been in a relationship for a year and a half during a meet-and-greet with the media as he approaches his 60th birthday on March 14.

On Thursday, Nikhat was at the trailer launch of her new Malayalam movie, L2: Empuraan, in Mumbai. During the event, she chatted with Times Applaud Trends about Aamir and Gauri. “We’re really happy for Aamir and Gauri because she’s such a wonderful person, and we hope they stay happy forever.”

Interestingly, Aamir was also mentioned during the L2: Empuraan trailer launch when director Prithviraj Sukumaran complimented Nikhat's performance in the film. "I had no idea she was Aamir sir's sister. I know Aamir sir pretty well. When the audition tapes came in, I told my casting director Priyatama, 'I want her (Nikhat).' She replied, 'Oh, she's amazing. By the way, she's Aamir sir's sister.' I was surprised! So, I reached out to Aamir sir, and he texted me asking, 'Is my sister good in the film?' I told him, 'Sir, she's way better than just good,'" the actor-director shared with reporters at the event.

A look at Aamir Khan's partner, Gauri Pratt

Last Thursday, Aamir surprised both the media and his fans by introducing Gauri at his pre-birthday celebration. The couple took some time to chat with the reporters and revealed that they had been together for 18 months at that time.

Gauri is originally from Bangalore and is the daughter of Rita Spratt, who used to own a salon there. She has spent most of her life in the city. According to her LinkedIn, Gauri attended Blue Mountain School and completed a fashion course in FDA Styling & Photography at the University of the Arts, London, in 2004. Her profile also mentions that she operates a BBlunt salon in Mumbai.
