You can always count on Aamir Khan to crack a good joke.

On Thursday, just before his 60th birthday, Aamir surprised everyone by introducing his new girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the media. At Mumbai's Taj Land's End, he shared details about her in front of a crowd of photographers and journalists, both seasoned and fresh faces. He mentioned that she hails from Bengaluru, has a six-year-old son, and is now working with him at his production company.

However, many in the media, myself included, were curious about her name, Gauri. As you might know, Shah Rukh Khan's wife of 33 years is also named Gauri Khan. It got us thinking—how perfect would it be if the last of the Bollywood superstar trio, Salman Khan, also ended up with a Gauri? So, we decided to ask Aamir.

“SRK has a Gauri, and now you do too. What about Salman?” I casually threw the idea at Aamir during a brief moment after the press conference. Aamir nodded, confirming what I said, and I added, “Salman should find a Gauri too!”

“What will he find now?” Aamir replied with a chuckle. But we’re not giving up on that idea just yet.

During the press conference, someone also asked if Salman might take any advice from him and Shah Rukh about settling down. Aamir simply said, “Salman will do what’s best for him.”

Last week, Aamir introduced Gauri to the press, saying, “I thought it would be a great chance for you all to meet her, plus we won’t have to keep it a secret anymore. She met Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan last night.”

He added, “Gauri is from Bangalore, and we’ve known each other for 25 years. We really connected about a year and a half ago. She was in Mumbai, we bumped into each other, stayed in touch, and everything just fell into place.”

Aamir was previously married to film producer Reena Dutta from 1986 until 2002, and they have two kids, Junaid and Ira Khan. In 2005, he tied the knot with director Kiran Rao, but they parted ways in 2021. Even after their split, they still co-parent their son, Azad.

This year, Salman Khan is hitting the big 6-0! He’s had his share of high-profile romances with stars like Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya Rai, and Katrina Kaif, but he’s still flying solo when it comes to marriage. Lately, there’s been buzz about him dating Iulia Vantur for a few years, but neither of them has officially acknowledged it.
