Aamir Khan delivered one of the most outstanding performances of his career in the film Dangal. Released in 2016, this Nitesh Tiwari-directed movie achieved monumental success, becoming a classic in Indian cinema. Nevertheless, Aamir has mentioned that there is a particular scene in the film where he feels he is 'out of character,' a detail that was only brought to his attention by Amitabh Bachchan after he viewed the film for the first time.

What Amitabh told Aamir

Aamir attended the premiere of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak alongside filmmaker Mansoor Khan on the inaugural day of the Red Lorry Film Festival in Mumbai. During the event, when a fan inquired about which performance he regarded as the pinnacle of his career, he responded, “I believe it is Dangal. There was just one shot in Dangal that I executed incorrectly. Mr. Bachchan, being so perceptive, noticed that particular shot.”

He reminisced about the time he inquired with Amitabh Bachchan regarding the film, to which Bachchan responded, "'Ek shot mein aap character se bahaar aa gaye (You were out of character in one shot).' I then asked, which shot? I will specify the shot. During the wrestling scene, there is a moment when I stand up and exclaim ‘Yes!’ However, the character would never actually say yes! He would have expressed something like ‘Waah’ or perhaps ‘Sabash’. The word yes feels too English for this Mumbai context. That moment remained in the final cut, and I came to realize it later."

Aamir recently celebrated his 60th birthday. Since the release of Laal Singh Chadha in 2022, he has not had a theatrical release. He is now eagerly anticipating the launch of his upcoming film, Sitare Zameen Par, which serves as a sequel to his 2007 directorial debut, Taare Zameen Par.
