Junaid Khan has recently embarked on his theatrical journey, sharing the screen with Khushi Kapoor in the romantic-comedy film Loveyapa. While the film garnered a mixed to positive reception from viewers, it did not perform well commercially. In a recent interview with ABP Live, Aamir Khan addressed the financial shortcomings of his son's film.
Aamir on Loveyapa's box office failure
When discussing his perspective on his son Junaid's film Loveyapa, Aamir expressed his disappointment, stating, "Unfortunately, that film did not succeed. I feel a great sadness about it. I believed the film was good, and Junaid performed admirably, yet it did not resonate with audiences."
Aamir disclosed that, as a father, he experienced tenfold the stress regarding Junaid's film compared to his own projects. He mentioned that two weeks prior to the film's release, he found himself contemplatively seated by the window, overwhelmed by anxiety, despite it not being his own film.
He remarked, "I was observing from a distance, yet my heart was racing intensely. I perceived it as a pivotal moment in my life. However, Junaid will learn from this experience. This industry entails navigating both triumphs and setbacks. Junaid is young and astute, brimming with energy and positivity. He will carve out his own path."
Additionally, he shared that he has produced a romantic film featuring Junaid, which also stars Sai Pallavi and is set to be released in theaters by the end of this year.
Loveyapa box office report
Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor's romantic-comedy, Loveyapa, did not resonate with viewers. Directed by Advait Chandan and produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Films, the film ended its theatrical release with a global box office total of merely ₹8.85 crore.
