Aamir publicly introduced Gauri Spratt to the media at a hotel in Mumbai during a meet and greet event held in anticipation of his birthday. When questioned about his decision to disclose their relationship, the actor stated, "We are now committed, and we believe we have reached a level of security with each other that allows us to share this with you. This is a positive change; I will no longer need to conceal anything. If I go out for coffee with her tomorrow, you are welcome to join us." Reflecting on their connection, Aamir shared that he and Gauri had first met 25 years ago but lost contact, only to reconnect two years ago. "I was searching for someone with whom I could find tranquility, someone who brings me peace. And there she was," he remarked.

Aamir has entered into matrimony on two occasions, first with Reena Dutta and subsequently with Kiran Rao. He is the father of three children from these unions. When Aamir disclosed that Gauri had met his children and that they had taken a liking to her, an inquiry arose regarding his intentions to marry Gauri. Aamir responded with laughter, stating, "We are completely committed. I have been married twice. However, at the age of 60, marriage may not be appropriate for me. But we shall see."

Gauri is originally from Bangalore, where she has spent the majority of her life. She is the daughter of Rita Spratt, the proprietor of a salon in the city. According to her LinkedIn profile, Gauri is presently managing a BBlunt salon in Mumbai as well. She has a six-year-old child and has been acquainted with Aamir for 25 years; they began their romantic relationship 18 months ago.
