Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta's son, Junaid Khan, is preparing for his inaugural theatrical release. He previously made his debut in a film titled Maharaja, which premiered on Netflix. His next project will be the film Loveyapa, where he stars alongside Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor. Recently, the production team provided a glimpse into Loveyapa by unveiling the first song. Reactions on the internet have been mixed regarding the new pairing of Junaid and Khushi. However, it appears that Aamir Khan is quite impressed with both his son and Khushi. In a recent conversation with a news agency, the Dangal actor expressed his admiration for the on-screen couple.
Aamir Khan says he could see Sridevi in Khushi Kapoor
In a recent conversation, Aamir Khan expressed his admiration for Junaid and Khushi Kapoor. He mentioned that he had viewed the rough cut of "Loveyapa" and described it as 'highly entertaining.' Aamir further noted that while watching the film, he perceived the essence of the late actress Sridevi in her daughter Khushi. Mr. Perfectionist conveyed to the agency, "I found this film to be very entertaining. It reflects how our lives have evolved with mobile technology and the intriguing events that arise from it. All the actors delivered commendable performances. When I observed Khushi in the film, I could sense Sridevi's presence in her. Her energy was unmistakable. I am an ardent admirer of Sridevi."
Aamir also said that he always wanted to work with Sridevi but it couldn't happen. He added, "I wanted to work with her. She was a brilliant artist. You cannot see her talent when the camera is off. When it starts rolling, Sridevi shows her true talent. She used to exhibit that spark, which I could see in Khushi."
Junaid Khan on his first theatrical release
During the same discussion, Junaid, who captivated the audience with his performance in Maharaja, conveyed his enthusiasm regarding his inaugural theatrical release. He remarked, "I am extremely thrilled. This film is quite exhilarating. I believe this role presents a fresh challenge for me, distinct from Maharaja, making it a demanding experience as an actor. This marks my first theatrical release."
Loveyapa is directed by Advait Chandan, known for his work on Laal Singh Chaddha featuring Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan. This romantic comedy is scheduled for release in theatres on February 7, where it will compete with Himesh Reshammiya's Badass Ravi Kumar.
