Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh were recognized as one of the prominent couples in Indian television during their nine-year marriage. Following the pandemic, the couple parted ways, and their divorce was finalized in 2021. In a recent interview, Aamir disclosed the impact of the divorce on his life, mentioning that he is currently not in contact with his daughter, Ayra.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Aamir disclosed that he was 'not in touch with anyone' when questioned about his communication with Sanjeeda and Ayra. He remarked, "It's complicated, as I mentioned. I wish everyone the best and extend my love, but I am not in contact. I prefer not to discuss it. Much has been written because my ex and I (Sanjeeda) chose not to address it publicly and to maintain mutual respect. Otherwise, it would have merely been airing our grievances in public. I believe none of us desired that outcome. I have never spoken ill of her, as we shared a relationship. I cannot disparage anyone I have been involved with. Speculation and commentary from others were rampant, but I am powerless to change that."

Aamir also reflected on the period following his divorce, during which he felt incapable of love. He expressed, "Deep down, I recognized that I was grappling with my emotions. At times, everything seems fine, yet you remain unaware of what is truly happening. Last year, I was socializing with many individuals, but whenever something significant occurred, I would retreat. I began to think, ‘I don't believe I am capable of loving anymore.’"

He further noted that this challenging phase concluded when he met his current girlfriend, Ankita Kukreti, who helped him realize that 'I still have a heart.'

Aamir Ali has been a significant presence in the Indian television and streaming industry for more than two decades. He has featured in well-known television dramas such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, and Kya Dill Mein Hai. In 2007, he and his partner Sanjeeda triumphed in the dance reality competition Nach Baliye. Additionally, Aamir has acted in films including Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai?, I Hate Luv Storys, and Faraaz. His most recent appearance was in the JioCinema series Doctors.
