Aamir Ali has been a prominent figure in the Indian television industry for nearly two decades. He has participated in several landmark shows, including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kya Dil Mein Hai, and FIR. However, in an exclusive interview with HT, the actor expressed that he eventually found television to be exhausting.

While promoting his latest web series, Doctors, Aamir discussed the constraints of traditional television and how the rise of OTT platforms has liberated artists like himself. He elaborated on the opportunities that OTT provides for actors to portray a wider range of characters with more intricate storylines, stating, "This is why we are pursuing OTT and similar projects."
He further remarked, "Having spent considerable time in television, I felt fatigued. I sought to engage in more intriguing work, which led me to transition to OTT, where I could undertake refreshing projects that reignite my passion. Repeating the same roles can diminish one's enthusiasm."

In the medical drama Doctors, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, Aamir portrays Dr. Dhawal, a distinguished neurosurgeon who becomes a general physician following a failed surgery that results in partial paralysis. Reflecting on this role, he noted, "He is grappling with inner demons. There are aspirations he holds for himself, yet he is unable to pursue them, which has plunged him into a darker emotional state. This aspect of the character was compelling to explore."
Doctors also features performances by Sharad Kelkar, Harleen Sethi, Viraf Patell, and Vivaan Shah. The series premiered on JioCinema on December 27.
