A.R. Murugadoss, renowned for his blockbuster hits such as Ghajini and Holiday, recently recounted a delightful and nostalgic story about the first time he encountered Salman Khan. The director, who is preparing to work with Salman on the action film Sikandar, surprised attendees at the trailer launch event with this charming anecdote from his early career.

"I was merely a struggling Assistant Director back then, filled with aspirations but earning a modest salary," Murugadoss began, eliciting laughter from the audience. "Eager to witness a film shoot, I made my way to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I pleaded with the security guard for entry. After some persuasion, he relented, but with two stipulations: I had to remain in a corner and refrain from speaking to anyone. Oh, and I was granted just 20 minutes to observe. That was my version of VIP access!"

Upon entering the studio, Murugadoss felt a surge of excitement. However, what transpired next is etched in his memory. "I can't recall the specifics of the shoot, but I vividly remember entering to see Sridevi enveloped in a thick haze of smoke. And then… I spotted him. The back of a hero, combing his hair. My heart raced as I strained to catch a glimpse. There he was—Salman Khan, the man who would eventually become my leading actor."

Naturally, as an enthusiastic fan, Murugadoss attempted to inch closer for a better view, but the watchful security guard had other intentions. "The guard noticed my attempt to sneak forward, shot me a warning glance, and I had to back off. Yet, as I exited, I made a silent vow to myself—one day, I would direct this man."

Today, that initial promise has come to fruition. Murugadoss is poised to direct Sikandar, an exciting action film featuring the renowned Salman Khan alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Scheduled for release on March 30, 2025, this marks a significant milestone for the director, who once aspired to collaborate with Salman. Now, he is realizing that dream on the cinematic stage. This serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of pursuing one's aspirations—and occasionally, embracing a stroke of luck!
