Amitabh Bachchan lifts Jaya Bachchan in his arms
In a clip shared by Lehren TV, Amitabh Bachchan is seen performing his well-known song "Mere Angne Mein" from the movie Laawaris. Dressed in a formal black suit, he captivates a live audience. However, the highlight of the performance occurs when Jaya steps onto the stage, and Amitabh lifts her into his arms, dancing while singing the lyrics, “Jiski biwi chhoti, uska bhi bada naam hai… gode mein bitha lo, bachhe ka kya kaam hai.” This endearing display of their chemistry has left fans enchanted. The footage is from a concert held in the US in 1983.
Comments from viewers on Reddit included sentiments like, “What an era this was,” and “This is a cute husband-wife moment.” Another user remarked, “Not gonna lie, that was actually cute,” while one fan noted, “They looked picture-perfect here.” Additional comments included, “Haha, so cool,” and “I think it made my day.”
Jaya and Amitabh first met on the set of Guddi and were married on June 3, 1973, in a modest ceremony attended by close friends and family. During a 1998 appearance on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Jaya was asked about Amitabh's romantic side. She laughed and replied, “No, not with me. (laughing out loud) I've started trouble. He is very shy. I don’t think he… maybe if he had a girlfriend, he’d do it.” Amitabh concurred, stating, “Yeah, it is such a waste of time.”
