It was my second film as a director and I think I was immensely fortunate that this magnanimous cast and the entire crew put in so much faith in me to deliver khushi & gham in abundance!".

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham plot
The narrative centers around Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), the adopted son of affluent businessman Yash Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan). When Yash disapproves of Rahul's affection for Anjali (Kajol), Rahul chooses to marry her and relocates to London with his new wife and sister-in-law, Pooja (Kareena Kapoor), causing distress to his mother (Jaya Bachchan).
