A recent study published in the journal Ageing Research Reviews has revealed that the advantages of coffee consumption are associated with an average increase in healthspan of 1.8 years. Researchers from Portugal have indicated that, as the global population continues to age, the regular and moderate intake of coffee may significantly contribute to maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Coffee, which has been extensively researched, has been linked to a reduction in mortality from various causes, including a decreased risk of heart disease, cognitive decline, and chronic illnesses. It is regarded as more than merely a beverage; it serves as a rich source of antioxidants, brain stimulants, and essential nutrients that can enhance overall health.

This complex beverage contains a variety of chemicals, notably significant amounts of chlorogenic acid and caffeine. As the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, especially during cozy winter evenings by the fireplace, here are three unique recipes that are sure to make every moment unforgettable.

1. Coffee chia pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso
  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp sweetener
  • Drops of vanilla essence
  • 1 cup milk
  • Almonds to garnish

Method:

  • Combine the chia seeds in a bowl with the sweetener and the Espresso Shot. Incorporate a drop of vanilla and some milk. Stir the mixture well and allow it to rest overnight. Top with almonds, and it is ready to enjoy.

2. Rich and Creamy Hot Chocolate Cappuccino

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of espresso
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 tbsp sweetener of choice (sugar/ jaggery)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 200 gms good quality chocolate
  • 1/4th cup corn starch
  • 1/4th cup cocoa powder

Additional:

  • Whipped cream
  • Marshmallows
  • Strawberries

Method:

  • To begin, prepare a shot of espresso and position half of the chocolate bark over the mug as the espresso is being poured. Subsequently, in a separate container, heat the milk until it reaches a gentle boil. Incorporate the cinnamon stick, the chocolate-infused espresso, the remaining chopped chocolate, and sugar into the heated milk. Following this, add cocoa powder and a corn slurry, ensuring to mix the ingredients thoroughly. Allow the mixture to reach a boil. Finally, pour the hot beverage into your preferred Christmas mug and garnish with whipped cream, accompanied by marshmallows and strawberries on the side.

3. Salted Caramel Cinnamon Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1/2 cup espresso (cooled)
  • 2 tbsp salted caramel sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg and sea salt
  • 1/2 cup ice

Garnish:

  • Whipped cream
  • Drizzle of caramel sauce
  • Crushed toffee bits
  • Cinnamon dusting

Method:

  • Combine milk, coffee, caramel sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, sea salt, and ice in a blender. Blend the mixture until it achieves a frothy consistency. Transfer the contents into a glass or mug. Finish by garnishing with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel, crushed toffee, and a light dusting of cinnamon.
