Women are increasingly shifting their focus away from traditional roles in relationships and careers, placing greater emphasis on self-exploration and self-awareness. A recent survey conducted by Talker Research for Intimina reveals that women are prioritizing the understanding of their own bodies.

Study Insights:

The survey involved 2,000 American women, evenly distributed across generations, to assess their shifting priorities over the past five years. The results indicated that the foremost concerns for women today are gaining knowledge about their bodies and women's health issues (59%), along with fostering comfort and confidence in their physical selves (58%).

Despite the emphasis on body confidence, the survey revealed that only 14% of participants reported feeling extremely confident in their bodies, while 18% felt very confident, and 36% indicated they felt somewhat confident.

How are women embracing their identities?

The survey also highlighted that 25% of Gen Z women, 21% of millennials, 18% of Gen Xers, and a certain percentage of baby boomers actively strive to enhance their confidence in their womanhood.

Women are more focused on embracing their womanhood.

Dunja Kokotovic, the brand manager for Intimina, remarked that contemporary women are increasingly focused on a profound transformation: the understanding and acceptance of their own bodies. The findings from the survey indicate a clear preference for confidence and comfort in womanhood over traditional achievements such as travel or financial prosperity. However, the path to achieving this confidence can be fraught with difficulties, particularly for younger generations who must navigate societal expectations while fully embracing their identity as women. This trend, observed across various age groups, signifies a cultural shift where self-awareness and empowerment are paramount, illustrating that genuine success begins with self-love and well-being.

Women vs. men:

In comparing women to men, the survey revealed that 89% of participants expressed pride in their womanhood. Nonetheless, they also highlighted the challenges they encounter relative to men, particularly regarding body image pressures, gender inequality in the workplace, and societal perceptions of women's personalities and roles. Additionally, sports and public safety were identified as areas where women feel particularly disadvantaged compared to their male counterparts.
