This year, Hola Mohalla will take place from March 14, 2025, to March 16, 2025.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji established the Hola Mohalla festivities in the late 17th century to demonstrate the strength and solidarity of the Sikh community. During this event, Sikh men participate in mock battles to exhibit their bravery, physical prowess, and military preparedness. Additionally, various competitions are held to assess the participants' physical capabilities.

Hola Mohalla: Significance and rituals

The festival commences on its first day with morning prayers and hymns held in Gurudwaras. Nagar kirtan processions take place in Anandpur, attracting individuals from around the globe who come to partake in the celebrations.

On the second day of Hola Mohalla, various forms of martial arts are displayed. Gatka, a traditional Sikh martial art, stands out as one of the key highlights of the day. The festivities include mock battles and competitions in wrestling and archery. Sikh men don traditional attire to engage in the celebrations.

The third and final day of the festival is dedicated to honoring the warriors who sacrificed their lives for the nation and the community. A grand feast known as Langar is organized on this day, providing free meals to all attendees.
