Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in a beautiful celebration filled with rituals, traditions, and love. The bride honored her Telugu heritage by donning two stunning traditional sarees for the ceremonies. Sobhita also posted photos of her bridal looks on Instagram.
The golden pattu saree
Sobhita donned a stunning gold pattu saree for the Gowri Puja ceremony at her wedding to Naga Chaitanya. For those who might not know, "pattu" is a Tamil term that translates to silk. Basically, pattu sarees are beautiful silk sarees that hail from southern India. These handloom creations are celebrated for their durability and are often treasured heirlooms passed down through generations.
Gowri Puja happens right before the wedding at the bride's home, surrounded by her family and friends. During this special event, the bride dons a beautiful saree and is decked out in stunning gold jewelry, including a detailed haaram (necklace), vaddanam (waist belt), vanki (ring), jada billalu (hair ornaments), jhumke (earrings), nath (nose ring), kadhas (bangles), and maang tika (forehead ornament). Sobhita also sported all these traditional pieces for her ceremony.
Another standout feature of her bridal look was the subtle alta she applied to her hands and feet. To complete her style, she styled her hair in a center-parted braid embellished with gajra, and opted for winged eyeliner, kohl-rimmed eyes, mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, feathered lashes, rosy cheeks, a classic bindi, and feathered brows.
The madhuparkam saree is a beautiful traditional garment.
After the Gowri Puja, Telugu brides change into a white and red saree known as madhuparkam. This saree is usually made of cotton and is worn when the groom ties the mangalsutra. Sobhita also donned the classic red and white cotton saree, which she matched with a half-sleeved embroidered blouse. She kept her traditional jewelry, makeup, and hairstyle consistent for this second look.
