Recall Kim Kardashian's striking appearance at the 2024 Met Gala, which left many wondering about the disappearance of her waist and speculating whether the reality television personality had used Ozempic. Now, Kim is disclosing the effects that the corset dress had on her body during fashion's most significant event.

You may remember Kim donning a bespoke Margiela creation by John Galliano for the Met Gala last year. The dazzling greyish-silver outfit included an exceptionally constricting corset, raising concerns regarding her ability to breathe comfortably in such a restrictive garment.

‘I literally was dying…’

In a recent episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, Kim Kardashian discussed her experience with the challenging Margiela ensemble designed for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme, as well as the state of her body after wearing it. The founder of Skims admitted, “I am claustrophobic. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, where I feel as though I cannot breathe. I can endure it for a limited time, but it becomes unbearable; I need to relieve myself, I can’t breathe…I genuinely felt like I was suffocating.”

In a segment filmed inside the limousine en route to the Met Gala, she expressed to her team, “I’m literally going to be sick. I have never felt this level of discomfort.”

What her body looked like after

In a different scene from the series, after she had taken off the dress, Kim expressed to her team, “I’ve never experienced such pain before.” The effects of the corset on her back were also visible following its removal. When a producer inquired whether the discomfort was “worth it,” she confidently responded, “Abso-fucking-lutely. Yes! That’s simply who I am. If you look good, it was all worth it.”

Kim further conveyed to her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, and designer, John Galliano, “I’m not as uncomfortable as I may appear. It’s certainly a performance piece. I mean, God bless the Bridgerton cast who must wear such attire every single day. That would be incredibly challenging.”
