Ishaan Khatter reflects on his fashion blunder

In a time when trying out new fashion styles is all the rage, Ishaan reflected on a fashion faux pas from his childhood during a chat with Hindustan Times.

“There was a time when I wore my socks over my jeans, and I still feel embarrassed about it. I might be ruining its reputation! But honestly, it’s an easy mistake to spot,” Ishaan confessed.

His eagerness to explore different fashion trends stems from his openness to experimentation and his readiness to learn from others.

“I’ve been lucky to collaborate with some amazing people who have shared their fashion insights with me. I take what resonates, discard what doesn’t, and this mindset goes beyond just fashion—it’s a life philosophy. For me, it’s all about being open and daring enough to try new things while staying authentic. Understanding what I like and what suits me helps me identify when something isn’t my style, and that clarity boosts my confidence in making choices,” shared the actor, who recently took the stage as a showstopper at a fashion event in Guwahati as part of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour.

His style philosophy

Opening up about his evolving style, the Dhadak actor shares, “For me, fashion is all about comfort and expressing who I am. I think it’s important to wear the clothes rather than let them wear you. The trick is to discover a look that feels true to me—something I love and feel great in—because when I’m at ease, that confidence shines through in my demeanor. That’s what my fashion philosophy is all about.”

When discussing his recent runway experience, Ishaan adds, “It was my first time walking in Guwahati, and I wanted to fully embrace the moment—taking in the vibe, enjoying the audience, and most importantly, having a blast. Above all, I just want to go out there, drop any pretenses, and really be myself.”
