Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee unveiled exclusive images of Sobhita Dhulipala's bohemian bridal appearance from one of the wedding celebrations she shared with Naga Chaitanya. Sobhita also posted the images, captioning them, “Snapshots from a hazy night in Vizag (We referred to it as the Young People’s Party / YPP. Lol) A Banjara-themed tribute to my backpacking experiences that have profoundly influenced my identity. Archival Sabya for the free-spirited soul. I felt acknowledged. Cherished.”
Details on Sobhita's ‘chotu lehenga’
According to Sabyasachi's Instagram, Sobhita donned a hand-crafted bagru multi-panel ‘chotu lehenga’ inspired by the brand's archives. The ensemble includes a red choli, an intricately embroidered skirt, and a dupatta. The lehenga skirt is embellished with antiqued zardozi and hand-painted mirror borders, while the hand-woven cotton dupatta showcases similar embroidery along its edges. Additionally, the classic “Kanthi” blouse from Sabyasachi features full-length sleeves, a round neckline, embroidered cuffs, and a cropped hemline.
Sobhita accessorized the lehenga with The East of Bengal Chandbalis, crafted in 22-carat gold from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery, along with stacked gold bangles, embellished bracelets, oxidized silver anklets, and handcrafted bellies from Sabyasachi Accessories. A parandi adorned with a tassel hair ornament and her engagement ring completed her look.
For her makeup, Sobhita opted for brown-toned eye shadow, black eyeliner, kohl-lined eyes, mascara-coated lashes, feathered brows, rosy cheeks, mocha brown lips, and radiant skin.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's wedding
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala exchanged vows on December 4, 2024. The couple celebrated their union with a traditional Telugu wedding ceremony at the renowned Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, attended by their close friends and family.
For the wedding, Sobhita donned two sarees: a gold Kanjivaram silk saree and a madhuparkam saree. She chose the gold pattu saree for the Gowri Puja ceremony, while the white and red madhuparkam saree was worn during the ceremony in which the groom ties the mangalsutra around the bride's neck. Chaitanya, on the other hand, appeared dashing in a traditional white ensemble, which included a white kurta adorned with gold embroidery, a classic mundu, and a silk stole embellished with a red border.
