Dehradun is known well for its street food varieties. BunTikki, Aloo Kachori, Bal Mithai, Sandwich...etc are mouthwatering street foods
of the city. In a recent interview with Curly Tales the Kill actor Raghav Juyal
reveals, he loves the Dehradun famous Bun Tikki. Why wait for a weekend
takeout? Make this homemade Bun Tikki tonight and you will absolutely love this
super crispy Bun Tikki.
Ingredients:
1. Boiled Potatoes
2. Chopped chillies
3. Chopped fresh coriander leaves
4. Chopped Onion
5. Hing
6. Black Salt
7. Roasted cumin powder
8. Salt to taste
9. 2 tsp rice flour
10. 1 tsp corn flour
11. Oil
12. Paneer cubes
13. Green Chutney
14. Imly Chutney
15. Chaat Masala
16. Bun (Burger bun)
Method:
1. Boil 3-4 boiled potatoes. Peel it off and mash it well
with the use of a masher.
2. Add some finely chopped chillies, coriander leaves, half
tsp hing, black salt, roasted cumin powder, 2 tsp rice flour, 1 tsp corn flour
and add salt to your taste.
3. Mix all these ingredients. Add 2 tsp of oil to get the
mix well and smooth.
4. Make sure that the mixture is soft but not sticky, too
wet or soggy. Divide into 8 equal portions, roll to balls, fill with a paneer
cube and flatten to patties with your hand.
5. Repeat this process for all the patties and place them on
a plate. Leave it for about 8-10 minutes.
6. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a small pan, and place them
in. Fry both sides until golden.
7. Take a bun and slice it into 2 parts. Toast them in the
same pan.
10. Spread some green chutney and Imli chutney on top of
your toasted bun and Place the patty. Spread some more chutneys, curd, pinch of
chaat masala and chopped onion on the top of the patty.
11. Close it with
another slice of bun and your homemade Aloo Tikki is ready to serve.
