In a notable development for India's quick-commerce (Q-commerce) sector, Zepto has partnered with Skoda to offer potential customers the opportunity to experience a test drive of its latest SUV at their convenience. The Skoda Kylaq, a new entrant in the sub-four-meter SUV category, is anticipated by the Czech automaker to become a popular choice in India. Meanwhile, Zepto aims to distinguish itself from competitors such as Swiggy InstaMart and Zomato's Blinkit by introducing 'test drives in 10 minutes' as a unique selling proposition.

Recently, Zepto released a video showcasing a delivery executive entering a Skoda showroom to collect an order, which sparked considerable speculation about the possibility of Zepto delivering cars within a ten-minute timeframe. However, Aadit Palicha, the co-founder and CEO of Zepto, clarified that this interpretation was inaccurate. He emphasized that the service would facilitate a test drive within that period instead. In a LinkedIn post, he stated, “No, We’re Not Delivering Cars in 10 Minutes… yet. We’ve seen the headlines—Skoda & Zepto delivering cars in 10 minutes?! We love the energy, but let’s clear things up: you won’t be ordering a Skoda Kylaq from the Zepto app (as tempting as that sounds). What you can get in 10 minutes? A test drive of the Skoda Kylaq for now :) But… who knows what the future holds?"

The Q-commerce sector in India is experiencing significant growth, with projections indicating a market valuation of $9.95 billion by 2029.

Skoda is also pursuing rapid expansion, having achieved respectable sales figures with models like the Kushaq and Slavia, and now sees the Kylaq as a key driver for increasing its market presence.

The Kylaq is priced starting at ₹8 lakhs (ex-showroom), making it not only the smallest Skoda available in India but also the most affordable. The highest variant of the model is priced at ₹14.40 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The Kylaq is equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which is available with both a manual transmission and an automatic option. This SUV generates 114 bhp and delivers a torque of 178 Nm. Additionally, it boasts a commendable array of features, including LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charging system, and a 10-inch infotainment display.
