1 Volvo XC90 facelift: Design
The recent updates feature a redesigned front grille characterized by diagonal slats. The LED daytime running lights maintain their iconic Thor hammer shape, albeit with slight modifications, while the front bumper has been enhanced with additional air intakes. The facelifted XC90 also introduces new alloy wheel designs and a refreshed look for its LED taillights. This marks the second significant facelift for the Volvo XC90 since its initial launch in 2014.

2 Volvo XC90 facelift: Interior and features
The interior has been upgraded with a new 11.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, replacing the previous nine-inch version. This display is now positioned vertically between the air conditioning vents and above the HVAC controls. The plug-in hybrid variant of the XC90 includes a specific shortcut for the electric-only driving mode. The overall interior layout remains consistent, and the XC90 will still be available in a seven-seat configuration. Additionally, Volvo has incorporated Frequency Selective Damping technology in the updated XC90 to enhance ride comfort, along with improved sound insulation and additional storage compartments.

3. Volvo XC90 Facelift: Specifications
The facelifted Volvo XC90 continues to utilize the same powertrains as its predecessor, with the notable removal of the diesel option. All variants feature all-wheel drive and are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The B5 powertrain is equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 247 bhp, while the B6 variant enhances performance to 297 bhp through the use of a supercharger. Both configurations are mild hybrids, supported by a 48-volt electric motor. The robust plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant boasts a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine delivering 455 bhp. The petrol engine, located at the front axle, produces 310 bhp independently and is complemented by a 145 bhp rear motor and a 14.7 kWh battery pack. This setup allows the XC90 PHEV to achieve an estimated electric driving range of 71 km.

4. Volvo XC90 Facelift: Price Expectations
Volvo has announced that the entry-level mild-hybrid XC90 will commence at a price of $58,450 (approximately ₹49.25 lakh), while the plug-in hybrid variant is set to retail for $73,000 (around ₹61.51 lakh). The 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift is expected to launch in India with only two of the three powertrain options available globally. In the Indian market, the PHEV model will represent the top-tier offering, while the base variant will feature the B5 powertrain. Currently, specific pricing details for India have not been disclosed, but it is anticipated that the vehicle will be priced between ₹1.01 crore and ₹1.05 crore (ex-showroom).
