The Volvo XC60 has undergone a global mid-life facelift, marking its second update in the current generation. This luxury SUV has been enhanced with refreshed aesthetics and additional features. The updated XC60 showcases a new design language that was initially introduced with the XC90 facelift, which was released worldwide late last year and is scheduled for launch in India next month.
Volvo XC60 Facelift: Styling Upgrades
The XC60 facelift features an updated front design, showcasing a new grille. The previous vertical-slat grille has been substituted with diagonal slats, and the bumper's air vents have undergone a redesign. Additionally, the luxury SUV is equipped with new alloy wheels, and the taillights now exhibit a smoked appearance. Volvo has also added two new color options for the XC60: Forest Lake and Aurora Silver. Furthermore, the Mulberry Red hue, already available on other Volvo models, will also be offered for the XC60.
Volvo XC60 Facelift: Interior Changes
The interior of the cabin maintains the majority of the existing dashboard configuration, yet features an enhanced speaker mesh and upgraded premium materials, including Quilted Nordico and Navy Herringbone Weave. A new 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system has been introduced, accompanied by an updated user experience. This infotainment display is now driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform processor, which Volvo claims delivers superior image quality, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and improved processing speed. Additional enhancements encompass new cupholders, more intelligent storage solutions, and enhanced wireless phone charging capabilities.
Volvo asserts that the cabin of the XC60 facelift is quieter than its predecessor, with the option of air suspension and laminated windows available. Furthermore, the SUV will feature air purification technology and a Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system, contributing to an elevated in-cabin experience.
The XC60 facelift preserves the original dashboard layout while introducing a new 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system with an updated user interface.
Volvo XC60 Facelift: Engines
Volvo has not announced any modifications to the powertrain. It is anticipated that the SUV will retain the existing engine options, which comprise turbo petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering 246 bhp and 350 Nm, is equipped with mild-hybrid technology and is available in the Indian market. Additionally, Volvo provides a 2.0-litre twin-turbo PHEV variant, which is tuned to produce 449 bhp and 640 Nm.
The Volvo XC60 ranks among the brand's best-selling models worldwide and enjoys significant popularity in India. The updated version is expected to be launched next year, featuring all the latest enhancements. Volvo aims to introduce at least one electric vehicle in India annually and is preparing to release the EX30 and EX90 models in the near future. Furthermore, the facelifted Volvo XC90 is scheduled to be available for sale in India on March 4, 2025.
