Volkswagen has initiated pre-bookings for the Tiguan R-Line in India. This model is set to launch in the country on April 14, 2025, and will be available as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU). The sportier version of the SUV is derived from the standard Tiguan and will feature enhancements in mechanical performance, functionality, and aesthetics. Interested customers can pre-book the vehicle through the manufacturer's website.

The anticipated price for the new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV will compete with entry-level luxury models such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1, Audi Q3, and others, as well as the well-known Toyota Fortuner within the same segment.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Colour options revealed

The pre-booking page has also disclosed six available color options for the Tiguan R-Line, which include Persimmon Red Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White (featuring a Mother of Pearl effect), Cipressino Green Metallic, and Oyster Silver Metallic.

The Tiguan is equipped with full HD Matrix LED headlights that are connected by a lightbar across the front, complemented by a robust bumper with side openings that contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.28 cd. At the rear, a black panel houses the taillight cluster, and the model is fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels. The R-Line variant is easily recognizable by the ‘R’ badging on the front doors.

The latest generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan has been available globally since last year. This updated version is constructed on the MQB-Evo platform, measuring 30 mm longer and 4 mm taller while retaining a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. Its exterior design has been refined, presenting a more curvaceous silhouette.

The interior of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line showcases a modern and technologically advanced design, featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a prominent 15.1-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system that utilizes the latest MIB4 user interface. The new Tiguan will continue to accommodate five passengers.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Engine and specifications

The upcoming generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line in India is expected to be equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, delivering 201 bhp and 320 Nm of maximum torque, and will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Although a 6-speed manual transmission is available for the Tiguan R-Line, it will not be offered in the Indian market.

International versions of the new Volkswagen Tiguan feature enhancements such as Dynamic Chassis Control Pro for the adaptive suspension system, along with twin-valve variable dampers and a Vehicle Dynamics Manager (VDM) system. It remains to be seen whether these features will be included in the model tailored for India.
