Volkswagen India has officially introduced the highly anticipated Tiguan R-Line SUV, priced at ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom and introductory). This sporty SUV replaces the previous Volkswagen Tiguan, which was recently removed from the German automaker's lineup in India. The new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line presents a more dynamic version of the SUV, featuring numerous aesthetic updates and enhancements.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will be available alongside the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Customers can place orders for the sporty premium SUV through the manufacturer's official website as well as at physical dealerships. In contrast, the upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI hot hatch will only be available for purchase through the company's online sales platform.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Exterior

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line showcases a sporty aesthetic. Constructed on the revised MQB Evo platform, this model boasts a variety of cosmetic upgrades and numerous premium features. It is offered in six distinct color options, including Persimmon Red Metallic and Cipressino Green Metallic.

While the overall shape of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line mirrors that of the standard premium SUV, it stands out due to unique design elements such as dual LED projector headlights, a prominent radiator grille, R badges, sporty bumpers, large 19-inch alloy wheels with various designs, and connected LED taillights, among other features.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Interior

The interior of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line features updated air conditioning vents, a spacious 10.25-inch customizable digital cockpit instrument cluster adorned with a distinctive R logo, and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it includes Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a head-up display (HUD), a drive selector switch, an eight-speaker audio system, and wireless charging capabilities.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Powertrain  

The newly designed Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line SUV is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission. Power is distributed to all four wheels via the manufacturer’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. This engine delivers a peak power output of 201 bhp and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. It also features Dynamic Chassis Control technology, enhancing stability at high speeds.
