Hero MotoCorp's Vida Electric has recently introduced the V2 electric scooters in the Indian market. This model serves as the successor to the V1 electric scooter, which has been available for a considerable period. Below are the primary distinctions between the earlier model and the latest generation of electric scooters from Vida Electric.
Vida V2 vs V1: Design
The Vida V2 and V1 share a notable visual similarity, as both scooters adhere to the same design aesthetic. However, a detailed inspection reveals a subtle alteration: the handlebar shroud has undergone a redesign. All other design elements, such as the unique headlight, streamlined body panels, split-seat arrangement, and original rear design, have been preserved from the V1 model.
Vida V2 vs V1: Battery
The V2 Plus and Pro models retain their battery capacities of 3.44 kWh and 3.94 kWh, respectively, which are the same as those found in the V1 Plus and Pro models. In contrast, the V2 Lite features a 2.2 kWh battery pack. All Vida electric scooters are designed with batteries that can be removed and swapped. Currently, Vida stands out as the sole electric scooter brand offering this capability.
Vida V2 vs V1: Range
The Vida V1 Plus is said to offer an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of 143 kilometres per full charge, whereas the V1 Pro is noted for its IDC range of 165 kilometres. The V2 Plus and V2 Pro models retain these same IDC range specifications of 143 kilometres and 165 kilometres, respectively. In comparison, the V2 Lite is reported to provide a range of 94 kilometres when fully charged.
Vida V2 vs V1: Variants
The Vida V2 is available in three unique variants: Pro, Plus, and Lite. Notably, the V2 Lite is recognized as the most cost-effective choice, priced at ₹96,000 (ex-showroom).
In comparison, the V1 was introduced in two variants: Plus and Pro, with the V1 Plus serving as the more fundamental option of the pair.
Vida V2 vs V1: Performance and motor
Both the V1 Plus and Pro models are fitted with the same PMSM electric motor, which produces a peak output of 5.9 kW and a torque of 25 Nm. The V2 model also retains this motor configuration of 5.9 kW across all three variants, resulting in performance metrics that align with those of the V1.
However, there are notable differences in their performance capabilities. The V1 variants are reported to achieve a maximum speed of 80 km/h.
In comparison, the V2 Plus reaches a maximum speed of 85 km/h, the V2 Pro can attain a top speed of 90 km/h, while the V2 Lite is said to reach a maximum speed of 69 km/h.
The V1 Plus offers three riding modes: Eco, Ride, and Sport. Conversely, the V1 Pro features a Custom mode, bringing the total to four riding modes.
The V2 Lite presents two modes: Eco and Ride. The V2 Plus introduces a third mode, Sport, while the V2 Pro includes a Custom mode, thus totaling four riding modes.
Vida V2 vs V1: Price
The Vida V1 Plus was originally priced at ₹1,19,900, whereas the Pro model was set at ₹1,49,900 (ex-showroom).
As of now, the starting price has been lowered to ₹96,000 due to the introduction of the Lite variant. The V2 Plus is currently available for ₹1,15,000, and the Pro model is offered at ₹1,35,000 (ex-showroom).
