Ultraviolette has introduced its inaugural electric scooter, the Tesseract, in India, alongside the enduro adventure motorcycle known as the Shockwave. With the unveiling of the Ultraviolette Tesseract, the electric vehicle manufacturer has ventured into a segment that is regarded as a pivotal force within the Indian electric vehicle market. Priced at an introductory rate of ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the initial 10,000 customers, the Ultraviolette Tesseract is positioned as a significant model for the brand, as it seeks to capture a larger share of the Indian EV landscape.
Nonetheless, establishing a strong presence in the market will prove challenging for the Ultraviolette Tesseract, as it is expected to encounter intense competition from several well-established electric scooters in the nation, including the Ola S1 Pro+, Ather 450 Apex, Vida V2 Pro, and River Indie, among others.
The Ultraviolette Tesseract is constructed on a cutting-edge platform and is equipped with a 20.1 bhp electric motor. It offers three distinct battery pack options: 3.5 kWh, 5 kWh, and 6 kWh. Depending on the selected battery pack, the scooter can achieve a range of up to 261 kilometers on a single charge. Ultraviolette asserts that the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
