Ultraviolette Automotive has introduced its inaugural electric scooter, the Tesseract, alongside an enduro adventure motorcycle named Shockwave. The electric vehicle startup is now poised to embark on a significant expansion in the EV sector. The company has announced its intention to unveil 10 new electric two-wheelers, encompassing both motorcycles and scooters across various segments, within the next three years.

Having commenced its journey with the premium F77 series of electric superbikes, Ultraviolette has now ventured into the more accessible segment of the Indian electric two-wheeler market, where its latest offerings are priced between ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and ₹1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). This strategic move is designed to capture a larger share of the rapidly growing market and to pose competition to established brands such as Ola Electric and Ather Energy, among others.

Regarding future product initiatives, Ultraviolette's CEO and Co-founder, Narayan Subramaniam, informed PTI that the forthcoming 10 electric two-wheelers will feature both scooters and long-range cruiser motorcycles, with a target launch by 2028. He emphasized that this swift expansion of the product lineup is aimed at enhancing the brand's market presence.

Upcoming Ultraviolette EVs: What's in the kitty

Ultraviolette is strategically positioning itself across various segments of the Indian electric two-wheeler market. Among its forthcoming offerings is a long-range cruiser motorcycle. Additionally, the company has indicated plans to introduce a multi-terrain bike in the future.

The new electric two-wheelers will be categorized into distinct segments. The existing F series, which includes the F77 and F99 models, will focus on performance-oriented bikes. The S series will feature two additional scooters alongside the recently launched Tesseract. In the L series, which currently includes the Shockwave, two more lightweight motorcycles are expected.

Furthermore, Ultraviolette will introduce the X series and B series. The X series will comprise three models, while the B series is set to include two electric vehicles. "The B Series is primarily aimed at the long-range cruiser segment and is still in the early stages of development. The X series will focus on multi-terrain capabilities," stated Subramaniam. He also suggested that the company is exploring the introduction of adventure scooters, maxi-scooters, and family-oriented scooters.
