Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet First Ride Review: Small Tweaks, Big Impact

In 2022, Ultraviolette made its debut in the Indian market with the launch of its first electric motorcycle. Initially, there was a degree of skepticism surrounding the product; however, Ultraviolette quickly garnered attention for various reasons. Eight months have passed since the brand introduced the Mach 2 version of its F77 electric motorcycle, and during this period, Ultraviolette has decided to expand its offerings by introducing another model to the Indian market, named the F77 SuperStreet, which is based on the standard F77.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: What's new?

For the SuperStreet variant, Ultraviolette has replaced the clip-on handlebars with a new single-piece design. This model also features an updated upper triple tree and risers. Additionally, a new wind deflector has been integrated at the front, enhancing the aerodynamic efficiency of the SuperStreet compared to the standard F77.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: What are the changes?

The introduction of the new handlebars has significantly altered the riding triangle. Riders now adopt a more upright position, which alleviates pressure on the wrists, shoulders, and arms. Ultraviolette has stated that the decision to implement the single-piece handlebar was influenced by feedback from potential customers who found the riding position of the standard F77 to be overly aggressive due to the clip-on handlebars.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: Is it comfortable?

In comparison to the standard F77, the SuperStreet offers enhanced comfort. This improvement is attributed to the revised riding triangle, which reduces strain on the rider's body. The riding position is relatively relaxed while still retaining a touch of sportiness for those seeking an enjoyable experience. The handlebars are also 85 mm taller and 30 mm wider, contributing to a reduction in the rider's weight burden.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: Does it handle well?

Indeed, the F77 SuperStreet excels in handling, much like its standard counterpart. We had the opportunity to test the motorcycle on a go-kart track, where it demonstrated impressive agility in corners. The newly designed handlebar offers sufficient leverage for the rider, enabling precise navigation along the track. Ultraviolette has retained the original suspension configuration, having attempted to retune it but ultimately deciding to maintain the same settings as those found in the F77.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: Are there any cosmetic changes?

Aside from the updated handlebar and wind deflector, the SuperStreet remains largely unchanged from the F77. The sole minor adjustment made by Ultraviolette was the elevation of the instrument cluster, which significantly minimizes glare. The motorcycle will be available in four color options: Afterburner Yellow, Plasma Red, Cosmic Black, and Stellar White.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: How's the performance?

The performance of the F77 has consistently been remarkable, and I am pleased to confirm that the SuperStreet retains the same impressive hardware.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: What is the price?

The pricing for the Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet matches that of the F77. The standard variant is priced at ₹2.99 lakh, while the Recon variant is available for ₹3.99 lakh. Both prices are introductory and are ex-showroom rates.

Ultraviolette F77 SuperStreet: Verdict

It is clear after experiencing the F77 SuperStreet that there has been a demand for a motorcycle featuring more comfortable ergonomics. Given that the electric motorcycle is predominantly used in urban environments, a more relaxed riding triangle significantly enhances the riding experience. Nevertheless, the ergonomics do not resemble those of a cruiser, allowing the rider to engage in cornering when desired. If you found the F77 to be somewhat too aggressive for your preferences, the SuperStreet variant is certainly worth considering.
