Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed that SUVs accounted for 68.5% of its total domestic sales in FY2024-25, a notable rise from 63.2% the previous year. The company sold 598,666 units domestically, which is a slight decline of 2.61% compared to the 614,721 units sold in FY2024.

This means that nearly two-thirds of the vehicles sold by Hyundai in India were SUVs. Tarun Garg, the Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., emphasized that the fact that two out of every three vehicles sold are SUVs showcases their strong understanding of Indian consumers and their dedication to providing innovation, safety, and style. The current lineup of SUVs includes the Hyundai Creta, Venue, Exter, Alcazar, Tucson, and the Ioniq 5.

Additionally, HMIL noted that 52.3% of all vehicles sold in the financial year were equipped with sunroofs. Currently, sunroofs are available as an option in 12 out of 14 models in HMIL's range. Moreover, the contribution of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) variants has surged from 6.7% in FY2023-24 to 14.3% in FY2024-25.

HMIL provides ADAS as an option in nine of its models. Garg pointed out that the increase in ADAS variant sales and the growing demand for sunroof-equipped vehicles reflect the rising aspirations of their customers and their willingness to adopt global technologies.
