Triumph Thruxton 400 Seen in India Prior to Its Launch

Following the successful launches of the Scrambler 400 X and the Speed 400, Triumph is set to broaden its range with the introduction of a new motorcycle. This upcoming model is anticipated to be a cafe racer, potentially named the Thruxton 400.
The new Triumph Thruxton 400 is designed with a classic bullet-style semi-fairing that seamlessly integrates with the Speed 400's body. This fairing design is reminiscent of the Speed 1200 RR. Furthermore, the prototype features clip-on handlebars, a bubble visor, and elegant lines that complement the overall aesthetic. Notably, Triumph has redesigned the tail section, adding a rear seat cowl to create a unique identity for this model. The modifications also include the addition of bar-end mirrors.
The Thruxton 400 draws its design cues from the larger Thruxton R. Although there has been no official word on modifications to the powertrain, it is expected that the Triumph Thruxton 400 will feature the same 398 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is likely to retain the current USD front forks and monoshock rear suspension, with the braking system and wheels remaining largely unchanged. Nonetheless, Triumph may modify the rake and trail to enhance the riding experience. Spy photographs suggest that the Thruxton 400 test mule is equipped with a blacked-out exhaust from the Speed T4, leading to speculation about whether this will be a temporary feature or if it will be substituted with the aluminum-finished exhaust seen on the Speed 400. The Triumph Thruxton 400 is poised to be a global release, reviving the Thruxton name, particularly as sales of the Thruxton 1200 concluded at the end of 2024 worldwide. This new model aims to continue the legacy within a new segment, bolstering the brand's competitive position.
