Triumph Motorcycles is in the process of implementing significant upgrades to the Scrambler 400 X, with recent spy photographs indicating numerous forthcoming modifications to the motorcycle. The Triumph Scrambler 400 X has been observed undergoing international testing, showcasing various alterations that suggest the development of a new XE variant. This model closely resembles the design and aesthetics of the larger Scrambler 1200, and it is anticipated that the new variant may adopt the name Scrambler 1200 XE.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XE Coming Soon?
The spy images highlight several minor yet impactful modifications to the Scrambler 400 XE. Notably, the motorcycle features a higher-mounted front beak and newly designed cross-spoke wheels, which are fitted with tubeless tyres. This enhancement represents a significant improvement for the Scrambler 400 XE, combining the durability of wire-spoked wheels with the practicality of quick puncture repairs. Currently, the model is equipped with alloy wheels and dual-purpose tyres.
The adoption of tubeless wire-spoked wheels is becoming increasingly popular in the sub-500 cc adventure motorcycle segment. Royal Enfield was the first to introduce this feature with the Himalayan 450, followed by the KTM 390 Adventure, and Triumph is poised to follow suit. Additionally, the company may offer these wheels as an accessory for current Scrambler 400 X owners at a reasonable additional cost, similar to Royal Enfield's approach with the Himalayan.
Furthermore, Triumph is reportedly developing a more accessible version of the Scrambler 400 X, which could mirror the Speed T4 launched last year. This lower-powered variant may incorporate cost-saving modifications to enhance affordability. Such a strategy would enable Triumph to establish a diverse Scrambler 400 lineup, featuring various models at different price points. The current pricing for the Triumph Scrambler 400 X stands at ₹2.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
