The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has made its debut in India, marking its first appearance in the country. This well-regarded SUV has been available in international markets for some time. Multiple units of the Prado were observed being transported on a truck. Upon its launch, the Land Cruiser Prado will be positioned below the Land Cruiser and will compete with the Land Rover Defender. In comparison, the current Land Cruiser LC300 is priced at ₹2.10 crore, indicating that the Prado will be offered at a lower price point.

The spy images indicate that Toyota plans to introduce the VX variant of the Prado in India. This variant features a grille with vertical slats, 20-inch black alloy wheels, side steps, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera, and square LED headlights. Additionally, the model seen on the truck was equipped with a panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the Prado boasts an all-black interior, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning vents for all rows, a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver's display, and a wireless charging pad.

In the international market, Toyota presents the Land Cruiser Prado equipped with a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which is calibrated to deliver a maximum power output of 204 bhp and a peak torque of 500 Nm. This engine is identical to the one utilized in the Toyota Fortuner; however, it is now enhanced with a 48V mild-hybrid system that contributes to improved fuel efficiency. The engine is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Toyota Camry launched in India

Toyota has recently launched the Camry in the Indian market, positioning it against competitors such as the Skoda Superb and BYD Seal EV. The Camry is priced at ₹48 lakh and is imported to India through the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, similar to its predecessor. This new model is built on the TNGA-K platform, with its current generation having been unveiled globally last year. The Camry has been available in India for over 11 years.

The latest version of the Toyota Camry sedan features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces a maximum power output of 222 bhp and a torque rating of 221 Nm. This power is transmitted to the front wheels through an eCVT (electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission). Toyota claims that the new Camry will achieve a fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl. Additionally, it offers three driving modes: Sport, Eco, and Normal.
