1 Design and Dimensions
The long-wheelbase (LWB) variant of the newly introduced BMW X1 has undergone a notable length increase, now measuring 4,616 mm, with the wheelbase also extended to 2,800 mm. These modifications position it as the longest vehicle within its category, resulting in significantly enhanced interior space. Passengers in the rear seats benefit from increased legroom, allowing for greater comfort during travel.

In terms of design, the X1 LWB maintains a close resemblance to the standard X1 model. Furthermore, the SUV is equipped with 18-inch M-Light alloy wheels featuring a double-spoke design.

2 Range and Performance
The iX1 LWB is now equipped with a single-motor configuration (iX1 eDrive20L), replacing the dual-motor system found in the previous iteration. This new setup boasts a claimed MIDC range of 531 km, representing a considerable enhancement compared to the 440 km (WLTP) range of the earlier dual-motor version.

As a result of this transition, the power output of the SUV has been reduced to 201 bhp, with torque now measuring 250 Nm. This change also affects acceleration, with the extended SUV capable of completing a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 8.6 seconds.

The vehicle is compatible with DC fast charging at a rate of up to 130 kW and AC charging at a maximum of 11 kW.

3 Interior and Features
The interior of the iX1 exudes a contemporary and upscale ambience, consistent with the standard model, and is designed with a focus on the driver. The seating is covered in Veganza leather, which adds an element of sustainability and luxury.

It features a dual-display configuration that includes a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 10.25-inch driver information display, facilitating seamless control over various vehicle functionalities.

Notable features encompass a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging capabilities, and an extensive array of safety features, which include multiple airbags, an electronic parking brake, and a parking assistance package.

4 Pricing and Color Options
With an introductory price of ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom), the iX1 LWB is competitively positioned within its market segment. The SUV is available in a selection of metallic paint finishes, including Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, M Carbon Black, M Portimao Blue, and Sparkling Copper Grey.

5 Rivals
The BMW iX1 LWB competes with similar SUVs such as the Mercedes-Benz EQA, Volvo EX40, Kia EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
