Tesla Model Y Facelift Spotted Once More on Indian Roads Ahead of Launch

Tesla has kicked off testing the new Model Y on Indian roads. The electric vehicle was spotted again cruising down a highway, marking the third sighting of the Model Y, which was heavily camouflaged. The company has also begun hiring for various roles in India and is anticipated to open its first dealership in Mumbai, where it will initially sell fully imported electric vehicles.

The Model Y is likely to be the first vehicle Tesla launches in India, and this makes sense since SUVs are the most popular vehicle type worldwide. The Model Y's higher ground clearance is a significant advantage for the Indian market, especially considering the state of the roads. In the past, Tesla faced several issues with the earlier Model 3 due to its lower ground clearance.

In the global market, the Model Y is available in a single configuration. It comes with an all-wheel drive system and a long-range battery, offering an EPA-rated range of 526 kilometers and a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour. The car can go from 0 to 96 kilometers per hour in just 4.6 seconds.

It boasts several features, including power-adjustable seats with heating and cooling options, a sound system with 15 speakers and a subwoofer, a hands-free trunk, and eight cameras. Safety is a priority, with technologies like Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Avoidance included.

You can choose from six colors for the electric SUV: Stealth Grey, Pearl White, Deep Blue Metallic, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, and Quicksilver. Inside, there are two themes available: Black and White or an all-black option.

The Model Y has recently been significantly redesigned, featuring new lighting elements at the front and back. The interior now includes upgraded ambient lighting, ventilated seats, a new touchscreen interface, and a soft-touch finish. The suspension has been fine-tuned for better performance, and the steering is now more responsive. Plus, it comes with acoustic glass to reduce road noise.
