Tesla is accelerating its preparations for the highly anticipated launch in India, with reports indicating a surge of activity from the US-based electric vehicle manufacturer following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent meeting with CEO Elon Musk. Shortly after news emerged regarding Tesla's initiation of hiring processes in India, sources have revealed that the company has also finalized the locations for its forthcoming showrooms in the country.
As reported by Reuters, Tesla has selected Delhi and Mumbai as the initial cities for its showroom openings. The search for suitable locations for Tesla showrooms in India has been ongoing for the past year, as the company appears to have renewed its efforts to penetrate the world's third-largest automotive market. Previously, Tesla had postponed its entry into India due to disagreements over the high tariffs imposed on imported electric vehicles.

The report indicates that the Tesla showroom in Delhi will be situated in the Aerocity region, in close proximity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to two individuals familiar with the situation, as reported by Reuters, Tesla chose Aerocity for its advantageous location near hotels, retail establishments, and the offices of multinational corporations. The showroom in Mumbai is anticipated to be established at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), also near the airport.
Both the Delhi and Mumbai showrooms are expected to encompass approximately 5,000 square feet. Sources have stated that the official opening dates for these Tesla showrooms have yet to be determined.
Initially, Tesla plans to offer its imported electric vehicles through these showrooms, with the possibility of local assembly or manufacturing being explored in the future. The company is expected to introduce several of its globally recognized models, including the Model 3, Model S, and Model Y electric vehicles, upon its entry into the Indian market.

The company's LinkedIn page indicates that it has posted job openings for 13 positions, encompassing both customer-facing and back-end roles. The positions available include Customer Support Specialist, Order Operations Specialist, Business Operations Analyst, Service Manager, Inside Sales Advisor, Store Manager, Delivery Operations Specialist, Parts Advisor, Service Advisor, Customer Support Supervisor, and Service Technician, among others. This diverse range of roles highlights Tesla's commitment to enhancing its sales and after-sales operations team.
