The upcoming Honda CB650R and CBR650R are set to debut in the Indian market, with teasers already circulating on social media platforms. These middleweight motorcycles received updates for 2024, featuring new design elements and contemporary attributes. The 2024 Honda CB650R is characterized as a middleweight naked bike, designed in a neo-retro cafe racer style. It is equipped with new LED lighting throughout and includes updated radiator shrouds, as well as redesigned rider and pillion seats, along with a new tail section. The design showcases the distinctive Trapezoid proportions, featuring a sharper tail unit and a reduced overhang, complemented by a slanted LED headlamp. The newly designed LED taillamp is seamlessly integrated into the fairing. In addition to the LED lighting, the 2024 CB650R is equipped with a new five-inch full-color TFT display that can connect to smartphones via Bluetooth. This feature provides call and SMS notifications, as well as turn-by-turn navigation. The powertrain of the new CB650R consists of a 649 cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, which has been retained from the 2021 model. This engine produces 95 bhp and 63 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed transmission. The 2024 Honda CB650R is constructed on a steel diamond frame, featuring 41 mm Showa USD front forks and a rear monoshock with 10-step adjustability. The 2024 Honda CBR650R is classified as a middleweight sports motorcycle, essentially a fully faired variant of the CB650R. Both models were last introduced in India in 2021 and have received significant upgrades this year to enhance their competitiveness. The 2024 CBR650R features newly designed, aggressive dual-LED headlamps and has undergone updates to its bodywork. It is equipped with clip-on handlebars positioned below the top triple clamp, rear-set foot pegs, and a more compact tail section. Both models have been enhanced with a larger five-inch display that provides Bluetooth connectivity, enabling call and SMS notifications, as well as turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, Honda has incorporated the new Honda E-Clutch feature into the CB650R and CBR650R, which eliminates the necessity of using the clutch lever during gear shifts. However, it remains unconfirmed whether this feature will be available in the India-specific versions. Previously, the Honda CBR650R was priced at ₹9.35 lakh ex-showroom in India, while the CB650R was listed at ₹9.15 lakh ex-showroom. An increase in prices is anticipated with the launch of the 2024 model year updates in the Indian market.
