Tata Motors has submitted a design patent for the production version of the Sierra. The vehicle is confirmed to be powered by an internal combustion engine, and the company has also presented an electric-only variant of the Sierra. Manufacturers typically file design patents to safeguard their design language.

The design patent indicates that the company will implement a few subtle modifications to the production version of the Sierra. Notably, the kink design element in the B-pillar will not be present in the production model, although it was featured in the version displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Additionally, the alloy wheel design has been altered, and there is a possibility that Tata Motors may offer two different alloy wheel designs when the SUV is launched.
